Is There a Parallel?
There's a sort of logic to the development that persists across the stages. A tiny microscopic percentage of people, at least at the time of his writing, develop from stage four to stage five. We're facing the problems of being developmentally pre modern people forced to meet the demands of a modern world. And so many problems can be attributed to the fact that we aren't developing people.
