The Challenges in Adding Natural Assets to Public Accounts
The idea of adding an asset class, while challenging, isn't unprecedented. municipalities across country are already managing nature as if it were an asset. What's missing here is them being reflected on the books. Governments often aren't even aware of the goods and services that a specific natural resource provides. There's essentially no business case for leaving nature alone.
