10 years ago, 15 years ago, the companies that I worked for, consulted for, it was a month. It was weeks at minimum before somebody new to the company would be able to make their first commit to production. And because of the squashing of specialization with platform as a service and software as a service, we've got someone like Netlify who can commit first day. That's deep, deep specialization so that a generalist like me doesn't have to learn any of that to start building the website when I join the company.
