The Rise of Textual Criticism

Dr. Berg has written a book called History of Interpretation. In it, he looks at how the opinion about John evolved over thousands of years. He says that during the enlightenment period in Europe, everything shifts away from John being the gospel of highest honor and most value. And then all of a sudden we start to have this awareness of the Jewishness of the gospel. But maybe we'll chat about that if we get Dr. Berg on the podcast.
