What's Going on in the Web Three Projects?

Am, it's been pretty unbelievable just to see the volume of scams and hacksand and just disasters that seem to be unfolding in web three projects. I think people just have sort of constructed this very simple mental model of, like, data is valuable to facebook, therefore my individual data hav a monetary value that i too can extract from it. What's interesting to me is that there doesn't seem to be any oversight anto any of this. It feels like it's something that eventually regulates, we'll have to one day take a look at, right? Especially if, you know, for some reason google decides that thy're going to make crome into a Web Three browser.
