How to Define Difficult Airway Ventilation
Difficult mask ventilation is defined as the inability of an unassisted anesthesiologist to maintain oxygen saturation measured by pulse oximetry at 92%. Difficult laring oscopy is defined as not being able to get any better than a lahain grade 4 view. And finally difficult intubation occurs when the insertion of the endotracheal tube requires more than three attempts or more than 10 minutes.
