The loss of the reefs must have been 'astonishing', as they were important sources of biodiversity. armored fishes such as Dunkle Osteos that could crunch through all the other fish of its day died out. On land finally, forest trees and various other devonian plant types seem to have disappeared,. but it may be connected with some of these atmospheric changes which were going on.
