The History of Ancient Egypt

In 332 BC, Greek was added to the written and spoken word. 300 years later in 31 BC, Egypt became part of the Roman Empire. And whilst Greek remained as the official language of the government, the new language of society was Latin. The ancient Egyptian script and the ancient Egyptian language gradually died out. At the end of the Roman period, very few people could write the hieroglyphic script.
