Claims about childhood memories of past lives tend to crop up most often in societies where there 's a predominant belief in reincarnation. If this was a real phenomenon, you would expect it to crop up in all societies more than it appears to. But personally, i don't find this evidence persuasive. It does crop up sometimes in western societies, or societies where there isn’t a predominant believe in reincarnation but not very often. And the parents tend to be indulgent of it.
