The History of Cosmology

In 2019, the physics Nobel went to Jim Peebles for theoretical discoveries in physical cosmology. For a long time, cosmology wasn't really seen as a respectable branch of science. That was kind of a widespread opinion throughout much of the 20th century. And by the time that happened, most of the heroes on my list had passed on.
