The Gospel Harmonization Approach

The four gospel writers were not purposely trying to make sure that their chronologies and their timeline all lined up with one another. So when we do harmonization, it's us as readers imposing a different structure onto the texts that doesn't necessarily exist within the texts. Another approach is to take a scriptural sequential look at the life of Jesus. And so that's a sequential according to the scripture approach. It's kind of fun actually. This is a unique opportunity for us as a collective church this year as we go through the New Testament.
