The Importance of Narrative in Moral Character

I wonder if there is a very Western, perhaps especially American way in which we describe our lives. That makes me think I'm narrative, like, that I experience my life narratively. And if not, then I don't know what narrative is. He says that this is just like a misunderstanding of what it means to be. If you are a utilitarian or a Kantian, you can be an episodic person because you can always treat somebody as an end in him or herself.
