Entropy in an Open System
Entropy must increase over time in an isolated or closed system. An open system can keep its entropy low that is divide energy unevenly among its atoms by greatly increasing the entropy of its surroundings. The point about disordered energy is that it can't be harnessed to do anything to create structure like life. If you let something just sort of sit there then it's just going to deteriorate.
