The Importance of Trade in World War Two
The United States took an ideological position at the end of World War Two. It said, if we can guarantee that trade can happen seamlessly and easily, we can keep a Germany from needing to attack neighbors for space and resources. The U.S. is not taking a cut on this, but they are securing that shipping from happening in so far as those nations are sort of playing ball with this free trade free world.
