The Importance of Sanctions in Cuba

Underlying the fall of the Soviet Union is, of course, the American economic embargo and program that denies Cuba from full participation in the global economy. And it's very similar to the American story in Iraq in the 1990s, where sanctions ended up destroying all of the social and physical infrastructure in the country.
