The Importance of Self-Publishing
By 1961, Crossfield started hearing the voice of God just like Joseph Smith had. He was told he was the next holy prophet of the Lord and that his first commandment bring back polygamy. Ten years after that, Crossfield self published a book called the first book of commandments. These revelations were mostly just criticisms of the mainstream LDS leadership. When the LDS got wind of the book, Crossfield was excommunicated.
