Are the Bride and Groom Really the Ministers of the Sacrament of Matrimony?

Sed Contra: A Podcast of Catholic Theology

CHAPTER

The Sacrament of Matrimony, Is Not a Sacramental Marriage?

Daniel: I think at first, the sort of natural marriage before Christ would have signified directly God's love for mankind. But even if such a thing weren't, if Christ and the church were not to be such a thing, I think there'd still be the signification of God’s love for his creation. So then the ministry is more like an occasion, you know, for, for the grace, but it's not strictly speaking sacramental ministry.
