The C-suite of a lot of these firms may be they're growing weary of having the workers have the control in dictating the terms. I wonder if it's a changing dynamic at play where now they're laying people off almost as a scare tactic. Like, hey, there's tens of thousands of people laid off. I'm not going to fight. I'm going to do what you tell me because I want to hold onto my job.
