Claire's Piercing Policy: Why It Matters
Raylene Marks wrote an open letter to Claire's corporation, explaining why she quit her job. A 7-year-old made it clear to her that she no longer wanted to get her ears pierced and the child was crying, saying that they were uncomfortable. Raylene asked a clarifying question, quote, so if a mother is physically restraining her daughter, holding her down and saying, do I do the piercing? Her boss said yes, which is downright horrifying. It's not as if an ear piercing is a medically necessary procedure by any stretch of the imagination.
