People just saw dog sitting around and assumed he was astray. There were even accounts of people kicking and beating hachiko. But eventually some one did notice a man named sito hirokiche. Soon he pieced together hachiko's story. In 19 32, seven years after the professor's death, cido published an article in a popular japanese newspaper. This article made hachiko famous.
