Sustainable fuels are estimated to account for less than 0.1% of global aviation fuel used today. Hardly anyone is making them and they're really expensive when you compare them to the kerosene that planes burn today. It should be possible for costs to come down as they have for other green technologies, such as solar panels. But that's clearly going to take years. And in the meantime, we need to reduce carbon emissions urgently.
