16 is when you can legally take your driver's test and get your driver's license. Girls may have a sweet 16 party, which can be a small and intimate gathering or an extravagant event with a d j band in dancing. Some families really go all out by renting a banquet hall and presenting their daughter in a gown. When you turn 18 here, you can buy a lotto ticket, vote and do a lot of other things adults can do. In most states, you still can't rent a vehicle. You technically can't go into casinos, and you most definitely can't buy alcohol at 21.
