Alcoholism and the State of Pennsylvania - Is This a Good Use of State Power?
Pennsylvania is considering a bill that would allow people who are trying to break the bonds of alcoholism, to register with the state. The state would then put them on a list that prohibited them from buying alcohol in the state. What fascinates me about this is it's completely voluntary. Nobody's required to do this. You do it voluntarily. And it seems to be for once a good use of state power in that the state stands ready to help you out with this if indeed you want help with your alcoholism.
