What Happened to Ai Weiwei?

Ai Weiwei is arguably China's most famous living artist. He was operating in an artist's village called Cao Chan Di that no longer exists. That has been dismantled under Xi Jinping, alongside lots of other artist villages which had dissident artists who were trying to do messages against the state. And they have not been tolerated under Xi. Now Ai Weiwei doesn't live in China and he hasn't been here.
