The Odysseus is almost too perfect in the way it tries to wrap up what had been happening these kind of threads which have been left dangling by the Iliad and some people take objection to it from that perspective. The gods are interfering out of their own desire but partly in response to human behavior. as you mentioned from there so it's almost as if we're getting insight into the aftermath of the Trojan war through this telemicus through telemicus and his interactions with these other figures who we knew from the IliAD exactly.
