Death Bed Phenomenon - Terminal Lucidity

Terminal lucidity is an observed increase in lucidity of patients near death. It could happen either on the spiritual level or on the physical level, because we have both a spirit and a body. Some hospice settings recommend advising family members of possibility of its happening. The question is, does god intervene miraculously to do it, or is there a natural explanation for this based in human nature?
