The arrival fallacy and grudch is the belief that when you arrive at a certain destination or reach a certain goal, you will be happy. It's this idea that like, oh, i just need to get over this hill, or i just needto get to the top of this ladder, and then i'm going to be happier. But it comes as no surprise to anybody that actually, what the research shows and what common experience confirms, is that arriving rarely makes you as happy As you think that it will.
