The Problem With Single Arm Trials
With single arm starts, it starts simply by the internal validity. It doesn't have any if you're really honest about it. They are nubble, usually also because they are almost always of small sample sizes. And that in its cells already tells you there has to be something to compare to. When we have to make this decision on whether to buy something or not, then we have to run through an exercise which kind of establish the external validity.
