Vatican one says dogmatically that we can know that God exists purely by reason without even revelation. But he talks about how man's consciousness is not just reflecting its objects mirroring them passively. We have this mind that stands at a distance from our objects and above them as I was just saying because of our mind subordination to truth, which is in a superiority that he says is essential for personhood. The human person in his every act is an eyewitness of the transition from is to should from X is truly good to I should perform X. So it seems like he's overcoming this by just by pointing out that that's simply not how we experience reality. It's just futile to deny
