The History of the Motion Picture and Television Business

Bill Mechanic is a legend in the movie and television business holding various executive and producer roles throughout his storied career. Bill began his career as vice president at pay TV and post theatrical at Paramount Pictures, then moved to Disney in 1984 where he built a home video units into a powerhouse division which dwarps any of the competition at the time. In June 2000, Bill embarked on the path of being a producer and has since produced several motion pictures in television series including the Academy Awards and Hacksaw Ridge. At present, Bill serves on the board of counselors for USC School of Cinematic Arts and the board of BFI South Bank.
