Hollywood was built by immigrants who'd fought bigotry upon arriving in America and had often fled persecution in their home countries. The men who created the studio system in Los Angeles were Jewish immigrants of Eastern European descent. Of 85 names engaged in production, one study noted in the 1930s, 53 are Jews. So this is a very Jewish dominated business. These are people who had to fight in order to be able to do their business against discrimination and stuff.
