One in four people who have diabetes will develop a foot ulcer. Every 30 seconds globally, one leg is amputated due to diabetes. As many as 50% of those who have diabetes, if they have an amputation, within two years will pass away. An advanced practice nurse must be able to provide physical care but also that emotional support.
