How to Deal With the Imperfect in English
Was or were doing something is how we would deal with the imperfect in English. When I was young, I used to go to a theatre class on a Saturday morning. Is that a th-dum? Is that an event that happened once? No. It's something that I used to do every Saturday, yeah? Yep. In a sense, it's definitely not a th- dum. Now let's think of another situation where you use the imperfect tense. Could you describe that as a th-Dum - because every second week could be a dum and every other week could beA day. A little more complex than previous examples but hopefully no one will find this confusing
