The Case of David Milgard
David milgard was convicted of the murder of Gale miller in 19 69. In July 97, dna testing proved his innocence and he was released from jail. He had been subjected to physical and sexual assaults while behind bars which led to several suicide attempts. His case became known as one of the most infamous wrongful convictions in the canadian criminal justice system. Currently he lives in alberta and works as a community support worker. The song wheat kings is about milgard's mother, joyce, and her absolute faith in her son's innocence.
