Gregory's Love of the Poor Is the Purest Expression of This Virtue

Gregory extols love even above faith and hope. He identifies love of the poor as the purest expression of this virtue. For Gregory, God has already come into contact with us, by sending us his son. We should humble ourselves just as he did, by going amongst the least fortunate and sharing whatever we have with them.
