Andy Kaiser recommends a novelised version of the Battle of Gettysburg called The Killer Angels by Michael Shara. Sydney and Eulynn Rittenberg is an American who the US Army taught Chinese to and then sent him over to China during World War II. He ended up joining Mao and Zhou Enlai on the long march, became their translator,. later went on to Beijing with them after the People's Republic was set up in 1949. And his autobiography is called The Man Who Stayed Behind. His wife Wang Yulin has more recently published her own autobiography under the name EulyNN Rittenberg. She tells how she and her kids were persecuted by the government because she was married
