The Diversionary War Theory and the Miscalculation Thesis

Traditional explanations for why the government launched the attack tend to focus on one of two theories. The diversionary war theory has received little attention beyond this particular case and a handful of other cases, because governments that are struggling do not want to create an extra source of trouble. Other main theory out there is what we call, in this article, the mis clation hypothesis. According to this, the argentina government was unable to foresee that britain would respond or thought it would respond more mildly.
