Awareness is an endowed characteristic that we all have. The more aware we are of our experience, the more helphful it can be for helping us live a healthy, happy life. It's helpful to drill down on awareness of the results of our behaviors. And just the results can help us start to change our behaviour and become disenchanted with being a jerk. If you look at the buddhist psychology, they talk about cause and effect. You know, looking both ways before crossing the street very helpful.
