The History of Sanctuary
In 1321, a woman named Isabelle of Burry stabbed her friend to death inside a London church. She was arrested and put on trial for the crime but later executed by hanging. Sanctuary wouldn't be limited to small crimes and common city folk. It became the centerpiece of a major political drama that played out right there in England.
