Madonna had to reinvent herself because she was on the verge of losing her career. It's interesting, isn't it, that the whole controversy over her being overtly sexual was so big back then? Today you have people like Cardi B and who's that other one with the WAP song, Nicki Minaj. And the songs are so almost aggressively sexualized. But that's all accepted today and there's no one going up.
