The Limits of Money for First and Second Generation Women of Color
The idea of scarcity and not having enough money is something different for kids that may come from a lineage of colonization, poverty or displacement. There's just like this distrust in the world to take care of our money and always be there for us. And so I had clients be like, hey, when I see this money in my savings account, I just feel like spending it. It feels like someone can just take it away at any time.
