The Rise and Fall of Credence Clear Water Revival
Looking Out My Back Door was yet another potent, two-sided credence clear water revival hit. Yet again, it scaled the charts quickly, reaching the top ten in just a month. The radio show American Top 40 had debuted, meaning for the first time ever, Casey Kasem could count down a CCR hit. It was probably a foregone conclusion that Ross' Ain't No Mountain High enough would take over the top of the Hot 100, which it did for three weeks in the fall of 1970.
