Abelard and His Love Affair
Abelard was a minor nobleman from France who decided to become an intellectual genius. He joined a priory in paris and became a tutor to a young woman named eloise. Abelard found her na brilliant and fascinating, and they had an illicit love affair. When eloise's family found out that her tutor had crossed this boundary, they attacked him and castrated him. But they continued their correspondence and their intellectual friendship. His most important work was a book called sic et non which simply mean yes and no.
