Is the Kremlin Really Inured to Casualties?
Kremlin seems much less concerned with looking after its soldiers than it did and even the old communist Politburo did in Afghanistan. Putin knows full well that there would be a massive political backlash to using conscripts into the war zone at the moment he's not doing so now one could argue because they aren't properly trained but let's be honest nor are many of the soldiers being thrown into the front line these days.
