In 1931 Gershwin recorded a run through of the piece, but nowadays this is not the form that you would hear the piece in. The piece was completely re-scored years after Gershwins death and as you'll see or hear, a lot of things are changed. It's a little hard to tell everything because the recording quality on the 1931 run through is not ideal, but listen to just a little bit and you can already hear the differences.
