There are two ways in which someone could criticize this argument which I was hoping we could explore. One criticism is that this argument overstates the extent to which people except ruling ideologies and have accepted ruling ideologies, it could just be that they don't have the means to rebel against their superiors. So what evidence do we have that people at the bottom of social political economic hierarchies actually accept ruling ideologies versus simply being unable to change the world that they inhabit? In the case of slavery, you know, yeah I don't I'm not saying that slaves have accepted the ideologies that should be slave. It's not so easy to find an alternative.
