Volunteer Engagement - We Have a Ton of Power
As a volunteer myself, I've only ever been asked twice in probably over the 75 different volunteer roles I've had to write to a minister in government or to read something around advocacy. A charity has only ever asked me twice to do that. And being invited to understand a community that had not been prioritized, and I don't like saying communities at risk or underprivileged. People are underprivitized. You know, and being asked to represent or to speak on behalf of or to advocate for a community engaged me in a very different way.
