This past Thursday was the fast of Shivaasar Batamus and we're now at the beginning of Banehamid Sarim. The chief rabbinate of Israel has prohibited Jews from going up to Harabbite, but not all Halakhic authorities say that it's not allowed. Rabbi Danny Myers says there should be no objection as long as people are immersed in a mikvah or have been under the same roof as a dead body. Scott Kahn: While I agree with his political conclusion, I think that going up is waving a red flag who may then commit acts of terrorism.
