The Politics of Folklore in China
Folkloric identity is part of this ongoing political project in China. And I'm wondering if you can introduce readers to that a little bit, especially because many of the listeners will be less familiar with Chinese history. The concept of a nation, nationalism, folklore, and fairy tale were introduced to China at turn of the 20th century. So that showed that Chinese did not have those Western concepts prior to the turn of the20th century.
