Bitcoin Is Better Than Gold
If you're holding savings in a currency that someone else can print and debase, then you're being stolen from. That's why gold was a better long-term store value than dollars. You could think of Bitcoin as like an inviolable contract. People are kind of like, through osmotic pressure almost, the pursuit of their own survival and self-interest pushed into a more untouchable asset.
